Dear Parents
I have a couple of things I need to remind everyone about.
- The residents of Beechcroft Rd have been to see me regarding the speed traffic is coming & going out of the school. This is a residential area with a lot of children & elderly crossing the roads. I know I can’t control the speed you do, but please be more mindful of others while driving on the estate. Thank you.
- There has been lots of lost property lately and very few items are named. Please label all dance clothes and shoes, so we can get them back to you.
- Can I also remind you that the children’s hair needs to be tied up for dancing and that jewellery must not be worn. We still have lots of pupils coming into class with earrings in and asking for tape. I’m sure a lot of them have had their ears pierced for longer than 6 weeks and we will be asking them to be removed.
- Just to remind you that joggers & hoodies/loose fitting tops are not suitable to dance in. We are currently trying on costumes and its easier for them to go over leotards, crop tops & fitted leggings. Plus, for health and safety reasons I will have to ask them to sit out of acrobatics.
- Now that the evenings are drawing in, can I ask the parents of Juniors 4,5 & 6 and Intermediates, to come to the door & collect your children, as we can’t see who is in the car.
- If anyone would like to help with cutting costumes out or sewing them up, please see me as every little bit of help makes it easier for us. (Please don’t be afraid of having ago as I will show you how to do everything!!!)
- If anyone would like to be a chaperone and help backstage at the show (Not one your child is in), please see me as soon as possible.
- Can I also remind all parents of our dancing school policy of no pants (other than seamless neutral dance pants for older pupils) to be worn under costumes. If anyone has a problem with this then you should see me asap, as to not upset the child/children on the day of the show.
- We will be placing an order for polo shirts & sweatshirts. If you would like to place an order, please see Joyce before Saturday 1st November, to guarantee Christmas delivery.
Here are some dates for your diaries:
Dancing during October half term will remain at the normal times
Saturday 25th October @ 9.30am..................................Tickets go on sale on a first come first served basis.
They will continue to be on sale until the day of the show.
Ticket prices are:
Gold Tickets £20
Blue Tickets £19
Pink Tickets £18
Any child under 2 will have to sit on the parent’s lap with their ticket costing £4.
Tickets can’t be preordered or saved. Tickets will be on sale at dancing and payment is required
in cash or cheque when purchasing. Tickets only available in the stalls & dress circle.

May I also take this opportunity to request that a £20 contribution from each child in the babies, a £25 contribution from the juniors 1,2,3,4,5 & 6 and a £30 contribution from the inters, seniors and advanced, to go towards the cost of the costumes. (If it makes it easier for those with more than one child in the show or like a lot of us struggling with ever increasing over heads you can pay small amounts weekly from now until you complete your payment). Can I also ask that if anyone has a problem with giving this contribution, that they see me and not Joyce, thank you. This payment MUST NOT be paid via bank transfer. Thank you
I’m still working on costume designs I have started a list of some of the things your child will need for the show and will send this out to you asap.
The full costume lists will go out with the costumes, but if you are unsure of any of the above, please come and see me.

Hi, I’m just collating the final costume list for your child. These are the things they will need for the show.
Babies........ Tan tights (No welts) or Tan/Toast shimmer tights. White satin Ballet shoes. Hawaiian skirt & flower garlands (available from Joyce for £4). Black Ballet shoes, white tap shoes & black pumps or jazz shoes.
Juniors 123.........Tan/Toast shimmer tights. Bany coloured ankle warmers. Black ballet shoes, white tap shoes, black pumps or jazz shoes (NOT SPLIT SOLE). If your child is Elphaba she will need her black sleeveless leotard. If your daughter is Glinda she will need pink satin ballet shoes. (please check with us as we have a few in the box)
Juniors 456.....Tan/toast shimmer tights. Pink satin ballet shoes. (please check to see if we’ve got any your size in the box). Plain black hotpants. One white & one black ankle warmers. Royal blue or cerise, pink ankle warmers.....Children will be told this Saturday which colour they are so, please check which one with your child. Own sleeveless black leotard. Black ballet shoes, white tap shoes, black pumps or jazz shoes (NOT SPLIT SOLES)
Intermediates........ Tan/toast Shimmer tights. Pointe shoes or pink satin ballet shoes to have pink ribbons attached. Plain black hot pants. Plain black cuffed joggers (NO LOGOS) Black tap Shoes.). Black jazz pumps. Black ankle warmers. Royal blue ankle warmers. Black Greek sandals. (Please note these come up big & stretch so its advisable to buy at least one size smaller than usual.)
We are also taking orders for a DVD or streamed video of the show. The cost is £20 and available to order from Joyce.
And finally, just a polite reminder to pay your child’s costume contribution.
